BQT Solutions started life as Banque-Tec International Pty Ltd, established in 1995 in Sydney. The company grew quickly through international orders and in 1999 Banque-Tec expanded its' operations into Europe with the foundation of Banque Technology Systems International Ltd. Success in these two regions led to the formation of Banque Technology Systems Inc. in the United States of America.

In 2002 Banque-Tec Limited was formed, which consolidated all three Banque-Tec subsidiaries, enabling Banque-Tec to become the "Global Force" in the development, production and distribution of biometric and smart card technology.

In November 2003 at the Banque-Tec Limited Annual General Meeting, the proposal was passed for Banque-Tec to become BQT Solutions Limited. The company decided to opt for the name change for its universal appeal throughout all countries in its pronunciation and distinguishes the company from markets which are not relevant.

BQT Solutions still remains a Global Leader in Mifare Contactless Smart Card and Biometric Access Solutions, expanding into smarter and more innovate high security solutions to suit the demands put on security requirements in across the world today.
