The miPASS Lite has an imbedded chip which is available in 512 bytes of EEPROM (384 bytes of user read/writeable area). It has a write endurance of 10,000 cycles. The card can support mulitple applications on the ccard, each with its own dedicated keys and memory area.
The miPASS Lite is an alternative to out-dated barcode or magstripe style tickets used today and is designed for single application usage such as electronic tickets in public transport, phone cards and entertainment ticketing systems. The miPASS Lite is read only and is designed for single use, although it can retain data for up to 5 years.
