The YD38 is a high security, low voltage electronic deadbolting door lock. Primarily designed for securing commercial doors, the YD38 is the widest solution in BQT’s door lock range, making it well suited to larger doors and frames. Given its size, the YD38 also has the highest holding force of any door locks, and for over 25 years, it has been used with confidence in buildings globally. Hidden in door frames or surfaces mounted to glass doors with the aid of accessories, the YD38 is made to the highest specifications.
Adding an increased level of security and strength to the solenoid drop bolt market while still maintaining the highest level of reliability and functionality. The YD38 can be connected to advanced access control systems where traffic and log reports are important, making it the ideal solution for centrally controlled buildings. Additionally, it provides feedback on both door and bolt positions that can be used in conjunction with the security and access systems to monitor and control movement fully.
With a stainless-steel bolt pin, the YD38 has a holding force in excess of 20,000N. In addition, onboard control provides auto-relock and timed relock for added security.
The durable design of the Solenoid Drop bolt range has made it one of the most reliable electromechanical locks in the world, rated at 1,000,000 cycles.
The YD38 can output both the bolt position and the door position as monitor signals. Monitoring the position of the door and whether the lock is open or closed, the YD38 will connect to your access control system to display the status of the lock for security.
The YD38 will draw as little as 230mA holding current at 12VDC by utilising the built-in current reduction circuitry. Low current paired with high-security access control makes the YD38 a preferred product choice for many industry leaders.
With factory-set fail safe and fail secure variants and multiple attempts to lock or unlock, the YD38 is ready for a wide range of application requirements. It can be integrated easily with access control or alarm systems.
The YD38 can be morticed flush into both the side, or top of many door frames. The lock is supplied with a short strike plate as standard but additional items are available in the form of a long strike plate, housing, and dress plate. These products allow the lock to be surface mounted when mortice installation isn't a preferred, or viable option. The housing and dress plates are supplied with self-adhesive tape for instant application to glass doors and door frames.

The YD38 locks are offered in either fail safe or fail secure configuration and are supplied with a short strike plate and mounting screws.
For installations requiring surface mounting of the lock, a housing and dress plate are available. Both the housing and dress plates are supplied with self-adhesive 3M® tape for instant application to glass doors and door frames.
